2012 Design Trends
1) Responsive Theming
A different approach of web design where one can create a flexible website layout that can dynamically fit into the screen of every device at any resolution. Check out Erico's blog post for more information.
2) Fixed-Position Navigation
A navigation bar or section that you can see throughout the site even if you scroll to the bottom of the website. This is helping users access any part of their site without having to scroll to the top of the webpage.
3) Diagonal Lines
Breaking out of the norm with the introduction of HTML5 comes diagonal lines. A more unique and flowing layout as the average screen-sizes / resolutions have become better.

4) Changing Backgrounds
Interactive backgrounds that are changing on scrolling down the page gives a cool effect and connection with users
