Organized Chaos

Coming from Windows/desktop application programming, I can see how someone can get overwhelmed by the Drupal process, but even at this early stage I can appreciate the power and flexibility behind the system. I think the trick really is figuring out where everything is, and learning how to navigate the interface, or lack thereof. I think the hardest part for me is finding where a function gets declared, implemented and used. The compile and run steps have been replaced by save and submit, which actually takes no time getting used to and what Drupal lacks in a rigid structure, it makes up for with creative potential, meaning, I can see it doing some crazy things once properly harnessed. My first project is a multi lingual site... i think that speaks for itself. May the force be with you

I personally find Drupal too difficult to use, it just doesn't make sense. I use Wordpress a lot and although it can't do some things that Drupal and Joola do, it does have a great community which produce outstanding plugins to use, which make it the best by far I think.

I've never used Drupal before but I've heard that is really powerful. I'm a big fan of Ruby on Rails myself -- how does Drupal relate // what are the pros and cons when comparing the two?

I prefer Drupal over Joomla. I tried both but Joomla seems to be too commercialized. What I mean is that many of the cool modules cost like full fledged programs. Drupal seems the runner up on the hole but still it has grown on me. A lot of functions seem more streamlined but then again, maybe it feels that way cause I have used it for some time now. :)

I picked joomla - I tested both drupal and joomla, I liked joomla better and have used it for some time now. But I am today much smarter in these things and soon try to test out drupal again, lets see what I will choose now :)

Drupal is pretty difficoult for me.. Just got the hang of wordpress lol. It is really nice though, some of the things you can do with it are truely awesome. I'm going to spend some time learning it, looks like it'll be worth it in the end.

I tried using Drupal for a new site recently, liked it but then had problems logging into the admin section. Yes I was using the correct login info-I just could not find a way to go to the admin section. Eventually I decided to go with WP as usual.
