Challenge

Developing a custom marketplace for global independent artists to buy and sell their creations with e-commerce and community functionalities. The site needed to be multi-faceted in order to effectively showcase the different categories of work available.

Solution

Appnovation created the site using a combination of custom and contributed modules. Sellers are able to create their own custom storefronts using image and music uploads, they can integrate their individual Twitter feeds and sign in using Facebook Connect. Products and stores are promoted to the front page by using the Voting module as other users like or "fistbump" those items. Users are able to contact each other via a built in internal messaging system. The site integrates Ubertcart, Beanstream and PayPal for the e-commerce component.
