## Challenge

Time Inc., one of the largest media companies in the world. With 24 magazine titles, each individual properties online, the need for a unified CMS and editorial solution was critical, made more so by the fact that each site is overseen by a multitude of editorial staff. With the existing architecture becoming cumbersome, and the editorial UI an amalgamation of multiple integrations, it was time to invest in a new, integrated, streamlined infrastructure, a true digital solution.

## Solution

Over the years, Time Inc.'s editorial UI became an amalgamation of custom integrations between Vignette, Wordpress and their homegrown TIPS CMS. The architecture was becoming cumbersome and creating several issues. Time Inc. needed a new, integrated, seamless and multi-site CMS and editorial solution, and [Drupal](/company/partners/acquia.md) was our answer.

Over 18 months, Time Inc. made a tremendous investment in [Drupal](/company/partners/acquia.md) to be the core of their DCMS. With Appnovation, they developed a large infrastructure around managing editorial Drupal sites and integrated Drupal into their legacy systems.

## Result

With our innovative digital solutions approach, a technically complex, function and feature rich CMS infrastructure was delivered. Designed and developed to assist and streamline editorial management, Time Inc. staff were excited about the new easy to use system, giving Editors and Content authors the tools to author stories as they happen in the field.
