The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge that's taking the internet by storm this month made its way to the Appnovation offices when one of our senior architects, Tom Pospisil, accepted the challenge from his brother Canadian tennis superstar, Vasek Pospisil:
Tom in turn nominated our CEO, Arnold Leung, which Arnold accepted and completed at our Vancouver office summer event this last Saturday, August 23rd. Also completing their respective challenges at the event were our VP of Talent and Culture, Warren Wong, Technical Consultant, Simon Mok, and Business Development Co-op, Tony Han:
ALS, also known as Lou Gherig's Disease, is a progressive neuromuscular disease in which nerve cells die and leave voluntary muscles paralyzed. There is currently no known cure or effective treatment for ALS and approximately 2,500-3,000 Canadians currently live with this fatal disease. To date, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has raised over $3 million in donations in Canada alone.
