The BC Nurses’ Union (BCNU) sought to mature its Project Management Office (PMO) to improve project delivery and provide structured support for its junior project managers. With the departure of their senior operational PM, BCNU needed guidance to establish or enhance project management processes while mentoring their PM staff. They engaged Appnovation’s expertise to build a stronger PMO foundation and ensure a smooth transition.
Appnovation conducted discovery sessions to identify challenges in BCNU’s project delivery process and assess existing PM assets. Based on these insights, Appnovation developed a PM Map, a visual guide outlining the entire project lifecycle with links to relevant PM templates, providing structured, easy-to-access resources for project managers. Additionally, a PMO portfolio dashboard was created to facilitate weekly project status reviews, ensuring better visibility and governance. To further strengthen the team, Appnovation provided one-on-one mentoring to junior PMs, offering ongoing guidance and professional development.
