Hong Kong Jockey Club

Business Challenge

Founded in 1884, Hong Kong Jockey Club is one of the oldest institutions in Hong Kong, a horse racing operator and Hong Kong's largest community benefactor. It is a non-profit organization providing horse racing, sporting and betting entertainment in Hong Kong. HKJC also proactively identifies, funds, and develops projects addressing pressing social issues in Hong Kong.

HKJC needed an IT ecosystem solution, and were looking for development, digital strategy and digital solutions. We were glad to step into the saddle.

Our Approach

HKJC needed an evaluation of the right tools for their system (Appnovation demoed GitHub, BitBucket, Jira) and HKJC were looking to introduce a more agile approach to writing, reviewing, building, testing, and packaging their applications. They needed a digital solution equipped and enabled to unify the development methodologies used across all of their teams.

Put simply, HKJC needed digital solutions, to address complex needs, but delivering agile solutions.

From unifying the development methodologies across departments, teams, and users, to a development solutions that are designed specifically to facilitate a knowledge transfer process for their DevOps team, our client was clear in their requirements, allowing us to create the solution to match their vision. Appnovation worked with developers on site to develop a Git workflow with source control, branch permissions, and artifact management in mind.
