Business Challenges

The European Commission (EC) is an institution of the European Union, responsible for proposing legislation, implementing decisions, upholding the EU treaties and managing the day-to-day business of the EU. The European Commission is made up of various departments and services, including the Directorate-General for Informatics (DIGIT).

To oversee the digital transformation of the EC, Appnovation were engaged for a consulting project. Our primary task? To ensure that the Commission was able to realise its policy objectives by making effective and efficient use of information and communication technology.

Our Approach

Our consulting worked allowed us to both outline and table the digital strategy for the European Commission. We launched an internal investigation into the organization’s integration and collaboration tools. Intensive analysis and in-depth study led to some innovative solution ideas.

The Appnovation team researched and developed a digital transformation roadmap for the EC, designed to produce a bespoke integration solution. Challenges addressed included analysing collaboration tools, platform analysis, data provision options, and software solution strategies.

Customer Outcome

As a result of the thorough internal investigation into the integration of collaboration tools with EC's current platform, Appnovation was able to create and deliver a roadmap, detailing the innovative, scalable, and agile approach that could allow this important organisation to stay agile in the ever-evolving digital and political landscape.
