Appnovation Brings Enterprise AI to Life at "AI in Action" in Hong Kong

Hosted at Preface's Hong Kong headquarters, the event showcased production AI work with Humansa and DDC Enterprise alongside Appnovation's newest partner, Alibaba Cloud.

Appnovation, an open source AI product development company, welcomed around 40 clients and industry leaders to AI in Action: What Enterprise AI Looks Like in Production, an afternoon event held at the Hong Kong headquarters of Preface and presented in partnership with Alibaba Cloud.

Rather than talking about AI in theory, the program focused on what it takes to move AI from proof of concept into real, everyday use. Attendees heard directly from the organizations doing that work, including Humansa, DDC Enterprise and Alibaba Cloud.

A flagship setting for a milestone moment

Appnovation had the privilege of hosting the event at Preface's flagship Hong Kong headquarters, a space built for exactly this kind of conversation about technology, talent and the future of work. The setting gave clients room to connect, compare notes and see how their peers are putting AI to work.

Guests were welcomed by Leo Tsui, Appnovation's President, APAC, and Arnold Leung, Appnovation's Founder and CEO. Appnovation felt fortunate to welcome many of its long-standing clients, including Octopus, HKEX and InvestHK, and the afternoon was a chance to keep building those close relationships.

They're shipping real products, built on open source foundations they own and control, so they can move as fast as the technology does," said Leo Tsui, President, APAC at Appnovation. "Today was about showing real products running in production, built with partners like Humansa and DDC, and now strengthened by our partnership with Alibaba Cloud. We're grateful to have shared it with so many of the clients who have grown with us here."

From longevity to treasury: AI in production

Scott Wassmer, Appnovation's Global President, and Angela Rosales, Appnovation's Global VP, Product & Strategy, travelled from Canada to present in person. Scott joined Elaine Jiang, Chief Innovation and Growth Officer and Founding Partner at Humansa, to share how the two companies are building an intelligent health ecosystem.

Their session showed how Humansa's Future Health platform combines diagnostic data, clinical expertise and AI to give each member a personalized longevity plan. The aim is care that is continuous rather than episodic, personal rather than generic, and woven into daily life.

DDC Enterprise followed with a look at modernizing data architecture for scalable AI. The session walked through a treasury intelligence platform, built by Appnovation on Alibaba Cloud Model Studio, that turns market, on-chain and regulatory signals into decision-ready alerts. The core lesson: AI can only recognize what your data architecture makes available, and the best systems record not just decisions but the reasoning behind them.

Alibaba Cloud closed the program with a session on the missing layer in AI coding, before guests moved into a networking happy hour.

Alibaba Cloud brings its cloud infrastructure and AI models together with Appnovation's product development and delivery expertise. The DDC Enterprise platform showcased at the event, built on Alibaba Cloud Model Studio and its Qwen models, is one example of what the two companies are already delivering for clients in Asia Pacific.
