Appnovation, a global digital partner, announced today a collaboration with Google Public Sector to modernize the City of Dearborn’s IT and data infrastructure, so that Dearborn can provide a revamped digital services experience that increases equitable access to government services.
Appnovation's role in the collaboration is to redesign and retool a new website to replace www.cityofdearborn.org.
As part of a larger modernization effort, the new website will help the City of Dearborn deliver crucial information and services to residents and local businesses. The website is expected to serve as a seamless, multilingual portal into city business and will serve as a secure, reliable, and equitable source of information for residents, according to city officials.
Notably, the effort includes digitization activities that were previously manual, as well as delivery of information and services in additional languages to best meet Dearborn’s equity needs. More details about the digital transformation work happening in the City of Dearborn can be found here.
Dearborn Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud stated, “People move to Dearborn and stay here because they expect outstanding city services. Our challenge was bringing this standard of excellence into the digital age, while reimagining what’s possible from municipal customer service. Modernization is not about getting new things. It’s about getting smarter, more efficient, and more innovative, and daring to dream of a world where government service is as fast and dynamic as other sectors. We’re grateful for Appnovation’s role in driving us forward.”
Mansour Sharha, Dearborn Director of Innovation & Technology stated, “We are thrilled to work alongside trusted and experienced partners like Google and Appnovation in our digitalization initiatives. This digital transformation will help Dearborn improve efficiency and agility, and embed exciting technology solutions such as Artificial Intelligence (ChatBot & Virtual Agent for 24/7 support) directly into our new website.”
In its engagement through Google Public Sector, Appnovation will provide digital strategy, experience design, technology development and training services in the development and launch of the new website.
“The City of Dearborn is already known as a place where innovation happens, due to its historic association with the automobile industry. The digital transformation work its leaders are taking on now will reinforce this reputation for innovation,” said Scott Wassmer, Global President of Appnovation. “Our team at Appnovation is playing just one part in a larger collaboration that will not only better support the residents and businesses that rely on the smooth delivery of government information and services, but will also serve as an inspiration to other cities on their own digital modernization journeys.”
