Appnovator Spotlight: Jatin Rupeja

Meet Jatin Rupeja, our Montreal-based Associate Engineer

We sat down (virtually) with Jatin (but you can call him Jay!) and found out more about his love for coding, getting outside for some cycling or volleyball, and enjoying delicious cuisine!

What do you love most about what you do?

Coding is fun! The pleasure of making things that are useful to other people is infinitely rewarding. One of the most satisfying aspects of the job as a programmer is seeing code you wrote deployed in a live system and used by actual people.

What are you most proud of for your career?

Work/life balance.

Where have you worked before and what valuable learnings did you acquire?

Before Appnovation, I worked with Pure Cobalt, where I learned a range of skills – from technical to management.

What do you love most about working at Appnovation?

Being part of a team of true innovators from all over the world.

What does being an Appnovator mean to you?

Being an Appnovator means to find inspiration in real life and put my own ideas on the table.

What advice would you give to someone new to Appnovation or interested in working at Appnovation?

It might be challenging initially, but I can assure you, being part of Appnovation is worth it!

What do you do outside of work? i.e. hobbies, special interests, etc.

I love cycling and outdoor activities like playing volleyball, table tennis and pool.

If you came over to my house for dinner, I'd make you:

Some delicious Indian cuisine.

The most fun I ever had was:

On vacation in the Himalayas, spending time with my high school friends.

I feel happiest when:

I'm eating!

What does “being successful” mean to you?

Being successful means I have achieved my goals and am satisfied with the life I'm living.

What are you looking forward to learning and/or doing next in your career?

I'm looking forward to being on the management side.
